A rural, mid-sized public school district, the Clearfield Area School District. The district is one of Pennsylvania's 500 public school districts. It is situated in the northern and central regions of Pennsylvania's Clearfield County. The area of the Clearfield Area School District is about 345 square miles (890 km2). The Bradford Township, Covington Township, Girard Township, Goshen Township, Knox Township, Lawrence Township, and Pine Township are all served by the Clearfield Area School District.

One combined middle/high school (7th–12th) and one elementary school (K–6) are run by the Clearfield Area School District: Clearfield Elementary School, Clearfield Area Junior/Senior High School, CASD Cyber Services K–12, or Lincoln Interactive.

Students in high school have the option of attending the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center to receive training in the mechanical and construction trades. The Central Intermediate Unit IU10 offers a wide range of services to the district, including specialized instruction for students with disabilities, services for people with hearing, speech, and visual impairments, as well as professional development for staff and faculty.
