Danville School District

A mid-sized, rural public school district in Pennsylvania, Danville Area School District includes parts of two counties. It encompasses the Montour County towns of Cooper, Derry, Liberty, Mahoning, Mayberry, Valley, and West Hemlock as well as the boroughs of Danville and Washingtonville. It includes Rush Township and Riverside Borough in Northumberland County. The district's total area is about 120 square miles.

The district is in charge of Liberty Valley Intermediate Elementary School (Grades 3-5), Danville Area Primary Elementary School, Danville Area High School (Grades 9–12), and Danville Middle School (Grades 6–8). (Grades K2). One elementary school, Liberty Valley, is still operational today out of the four that the district used to run until June 2011. The 2011 amalgamation of the new Danville Area Primary Elementary School resulted in the closure of Danville Elementary School, Riverside Elementary School, and Mahoning Cooper Elementary School. The district offers Danville eLearning Cyber Academy as an online learning alternative.
