Jersey Shore School District

Learning | Growing | Succeeding

In Lycoming and Clinton counties in Pennsylvania, there is a sizable rural public school system called the Jersey Shore Area School District. The district's total area is about 385 square miles.

Avis Elementary School, Jersey Shore Elementary School, Salladasburg Elementary School, Jersey Shore Area Middle School (6–8), and Jersey Shore Area High School are the five institutions run by the Jersey Shore Area School District (9-12). There is a separate administration building for the district. Due to falling enrolment, Nippenose Elementary School was closed in 2013. No publicly funded technology and career school are available to students.

The district receives a wide range of services from the BLaST Intermediate Unit IU17, including specialized education for students with disabilities, hearing, background checks for employees, state-mandated training on identifying and reporting child abuse, speech and visual disability services, processing of criminal background checks for potential employees, and professional development for staff and faculty.

The Jersey Shore Area School District will offer a friendly environment where everyone can develop, prosper, have a positive impact on the world, and give pupils the tools they need to move on to the next phase of their lives.
