Muncy School District

Southern Lycoming County is home to the Muncy School District, a tiny, rural public school district. In addition to the townships of Muncy Creek and Muncy Township, the school also serves the borough of Muncy. The Indian is the school's mascot. In total, the Muncy School District covers about 36 square miles.

The Muncy School District runs two institutions: Muncy Junior-Senior High School (grades 7–12) and Ward L. Myers Elementary School (grades K–6). The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools has granted accreditation to both institutions. For training in the building trades, drafting and design vocations, criminal justice careers, allied health careers, culinary arts careers, and other careers, high school students can go to the Lycoming Career and Technology Center. The BLaST Intermediate Unit No. 17 has a contract with the Muncy School District to provide services such as psychological assessment, pre-employment criminal background checks, and occupational and physical therapy.

Muncy sets the bar high for academic achievement, character development, tradition, and innovation, all of which inspire young people.
