Shamokin Area School District
Coal Township, Pennsylvania, in the United States, is home to the small, rural Shamokin Area School District. The city of Shamokin and the townships of Coal, East Cameron, and Shamokin make up the Shamokin Area School District. It has a population of around 21,000 and is situated in Northumberland County, in the heart of Pennsylvania's anthracite coal belt.
Shamokin Area High School, Shamokin Area Middle School, Shamokin Area Intermediate School, and Shamokin Area Elementary School and Annex are the four institutions run by the Shamokin Area School District. One building houses both the middle school and the high school. Additionally housed in the same structure are the elementary school and intermediate school.
