Williamsport School District
One of many public school districts in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, the Williamsport Area School District is a sizable urban school district. The district, which has Williamsport as its focal point, also provides services to the nearby townships of Lewis, Hepburn, Lycoming, Old Lycoming, and Woodward. The district's total area is about 98 square miles.
Cochran Primary School, Hepburn-Lycoming Primary School, Jackson Primary School, Stevens Primary School, Curtin Intermediate School, Lycoming Valley Intermediate School, Williamsport Area Middle School, Williamsport Area High School, and Williamsport Virtual Academy are the eight schools currently run by Williamsport Area School District. The District Service Center is also housed in the Williamsport Area Middle School building.
The District receives a wide range of services from the BLaST Intermediate Unit IU17, including specialized education for students with disabilities, hearing, background checks for employees, state-mandated training on identifying and reporting child abuse, speech and visual disability services, processing of criminal background checks for potential employees, and professional development for staff and faculty.
