The district serves the communities of Albany Township, Herrick Township, Overton Township, Stevens Township, Terry Township, Tuscarora Township, Wilmot Township, and Wyalusing Township in southeast Bradford County. It serves the Laceyville Borough, Braintrim Township, and the northern and eastern parts of Windham Township in Wyoming County's northwest.

Wyalusing Valley Elementary School and Wyalusing Valley Junior-Senior High School are run by Wyalusing Area School District. The primary schools of the Wyalusing Area School District were merged. A new Wyalusing Valley Primary School was built in the district to take the place of four shuttered elementary schools. Camptown Elementary School, New Albany Elementary School, Laceyville Elementary School, and Wyalusing Elementary School were among the closed institutions.
